Aston Martin Cars
It is of no wonder that everyone likes luxury sports cars. Remember those James Bond movies, which featured Aston Martin cars? Sheer power, excellent beauty and soul - if you attribute importance to these aspects, there are high chances for you to like the models from this British car manufacturer.
Just like its predecessors, this company too began its wonderful career by designing and releasing motor cars fit for racing events. One has to know that before manufacturing racing cars, the original innovator (Lionel Martin) specialized in car engines. In fact, he released his very first car with a four-cylinder petrol engine mounted atop a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini.
The company had to cease car manufacturing temporarily due to the World War I. However, the industrialist was once again on the scene with a refined product. This time they knew that they had to make a mark on the mind of the public. Needless to state but their products emerged out as winners in some of the Grand Prixes of that era. The company seemed to perfect the art of incorporating 16 valve twin cam high power engines. They released variants of the same vehicle - with long and short chassis.
Financial crunches always plagued and overshadowed the prospective growth of the company. Nevertheless, by then they managed to develop compact engines, which were affixed on two-seater sports cars. One of the primary motives of the company was to excel in every Grand Prix conducted all across the Europe. As the winning to loss ratio began to surge at the expectations, the company could find prospective investors. However, they did not deviate from the practice of building powerful engines. They say that success gets into the head; strangely, no such occurring happened over here.
In the recent times, famous American car manufacturer Ford held on to the leash of the company for some time. The management also realized the advantages of releasing their offerings in a worldwide scale. Plenty of endurance tests were conducted in Asia and according to valuable sources, the company managed to open up dealerships in many Asian countries. Notable additions to the consumer marketplace include the V8 Vantage, the V12 Vantage, DB9, Rapide, DBS and Cygnet. The V8 Vantage comes with a legendary engine, which could belt out more than 400hp (the highest possible speed of the car was approximately 290km/hr). Do I have to say more about the V12 Vantage? The maximum speed achieved by this particular model was 305km/hr, thanks to the 500hp engine included within it!
Critics have complained that almost all the models from the stables of Aston Martin Cars look alike. We leave that argument at the discretion of the readers. One of the notable achievements of the company was the introduction of four-door sports cars. This helped in dispelling the myth that only compact two-door cars could be labeled sports cars! The four-door sports car, which I am talking about, is none other than the Rapide.
